Economic Echochamber, errr... Conference

Check out Chait's comments on one singular aspect of Bush's recent "Economic Conference"... sad to say that it appears the entire conference was like this:

And yet here is Feldstein today, dispensing his economic wisdom once again before the most powerful people in the country. Imagine if one man had designed the Titanic and the Hindenburg, and then was put in charge of the space program.

Like I said, sad... but not surprising.

Hey, you know Dean Roper was a major player in that conference. There was a news item on the Tuesday "Carolina in the News" listserv that reported it. (I believe it was from a Washington Post article about the conference.)

Anyway, we met with Dean Roper on Tuesday to talk about the med student facilities and upcoming projects, then I'm sitting in the call room on Wednesday watching CNN and I see Roper sitting next to Bush at this Economic Forum. Kinda crazy...
