Educational Activism

A thought occured to me while reading this post by Jesse at Pandagon:

The right gets all up in arms whenever the courts exhibit "judicial activitism" in "enacting legislation" or "changing the founder's intentions." But what about school boards that exhibit activism against science and, well, reality?

I'm not really confused by this at all or anything... the right tends to use whatever argument they can latch on to at the time, ideological consistancy be damned. (Pro-life and pro-capital punishment, anti-activism and pro-2000 SC decision, etc. etc.)

Of course, the lack of confusion on my part does nothing to still my anger at the intellectual dishonesty of it all...
